Many customers own both high and low voltage networks with a need for a contractor that
they can rely on for installation, inspection and maintenance as well as emergency repairs.
Often private networks are owned by commercial and manufacturing companies who
require a reliable and safe network 24 hours a day. As defined in the Electricity at Work Act
1989, there is a requirement for high voltage network owners to maintain electrical
equipment in a safe condition. To achieve this, Stormport has the high voltage authorised,
competent and experienced personnel to complete substation inspections, installation and
planned maintenance of switchgear, transformers and all ancillary apparatus.
Stormport can offer a range of options for managing a private network. These range from a
one-off job to a long term Maintenance Agreement to carry out a range of activities
including new installations, substation inspections, switchgear maintenance, transformer oil
analysis, protection testing, fault diagnosis, location and repair, battery maintenance and
substation building and compound maintenance. If required, Stormport can also control and
operate the network and control all related safety documentation.
As your appointed contractor, Stormport will provide the HV authorised personnel for both
planned works as well as any fault diagnosis and emergency repair. Our aim is to engage
collaboratively with your organisation to satisfy all current legislation including the Health and
Safety Executive’s Guidance HSG230 requirement to keep electrical switchgear safe.
Stormport can also assist you in allowing your staff to operate safely and, with regular checks
and maintenance, maximise your electrical assets life cycle.
